“Domovyonok Kuzya” — a warm puppet story about a little guardian of the home
In this project we brought together everything we love about stop motion: living textures, hand-made animation and the atmosphere of a real fairy tale. Domovyonok Kuzya comes alive on screen thanks to carefully crafted sets and soft, gentle movement.
Creating a cosy world takes attention to detail
We developed the character from scratch: from the first sketches and choosing textures to a finished puppet able to withstand long shoots. The scenes were built so that the viewer feels comfort and a touch of magic — without excessive “gloss”, but with maximum attention to detail.
The project showed how well stop motion works when you need to tell an intimate, heartfelt story for a family audience or for brands that want to speak “like a human”.
What we did on this project
Working on the character and his world called for a special approach to creating a cosy, warm atmosphere. Every set element and every detail of the animation contributed to the overall feeling of home comfort.

How the character’s look was created
The character was developed with the specifics of frame-by-frame animation in mind. Every detail of the puppet had to be not only expressive but also functional — allowing natural movement and emotion.
The sets were created with an emphasis on a homely atmosphere. Warm lighting and textured materials helped create a sense of comfort and life in every frame.
